To provide financial support across related accounting functions within the finance department deputising for the Financial Controller during absence. The Incumbent supports the Financial Controller in the day to day activities of the finance department, this role supports three Plascoat operational locations in the UK, the Netherlands and the USA.
Duties will include preparation and submission of reports and measures determined by country specific legislative requirements .
In addition, the Plascoat Accountant will support the migration to S4 I.
Duties and Responsibilities: A. Direct Responsibilities: ¿ Assist Controller in providing full financial management accounting services for the 3 Plascoat operations. ¿ Support in preparing monthly outlook data as well as assisting in compiling annual budget information. ¿ Support Financial Controller to ensure sound internal controls are in place and provide guidance to the respective Plascoat operations as required. ¿ Other activities and reporting requirements as requested / delegated by the Financial Controller. ¿ Assist in preparation of monthly/ quarterly/ annual closing (US GAAP and Local Statutory Books). ¿ Assist Controller with internal, external & tax audits. ¿ Performs internal (SOX) controls (account reconciliations/ review). ¿ Support Controller with any Ad-hoc requests. Specifically 1. Plascoat Systems UK and NL: - ¿ Process payments and receipts ¿ Prepare VAT return ¿ Regular bank reconciliations ¿ Covering for Purchase Ledger and sales ledger as required ¿ Reconcile Company credit cards 2. Plascoat Corp: - ¿ Process purchase invoices ¿ Process payments and receipts ¿ Regular bank reconciliations 3.
General: - ¿ Carry out any special ad hoc investigations that may be required from time to time ¿ Any other duties that are reasonably required in the efficient running of the finance function ¿ Assist with month end and year end tasks as required ¿ Assist with customer and supplier queries as required ¿ Assist with External and Internal Audit as required B. Duties and Responsibilities with other Departments ¿ Liaison and communication with all sites, departments and associated staff as and when required. II. Skills & Experience Required: 1. Fluent in English (written and spoken). 2. Commercial & financial aware 3. Ability to understand and follow company guidelines policies and procedures. 4. SAP or other financial computer-based accounting systems. 5. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly Excel. 6. Ability to work on own initiative or in a team. 7. Good knowledge of banking and accounting procedures and experience in dealing with foreign currency.
